Annbeth Katz embarks on Awareness and Fund Raising Plan in memory of her husband Gerry Katz.
Annbeth Katz, a member of the Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation (ECEF) Board of Directors, continues to provide guidance and fund raising efforts to support research projects that ECEF has chosen to support. She has undertaken a letter campaign to inform her family and friends about esophageal cancer and to seek their financial support in these difficult times. Annbeth, who lost her husband Gerry to esophageal cancer 10 years ago, remains strongly committed to the goals of ECEF in bringing awareness, educating the public, helping patients, and supporting research projects that will lead to the early detection of this disease.
The research projects that ECEF is supporting, receive over 97% of the donations that ECEF receives based on the December 31, 2014 audited Financial Statements. ECEF is able to accomplish this since it has no employees and no rental commitments to deal with, as most of the work is done by volunteers. In 2014, ECEF raised over $400,000 dollars for research projects that will lead to an early detection of Esophageal Cancer and various patient programs. In 2015 we have set a goal to raise $150,000 for our research projects. Our thanks to Annbeth, as she continues to be a vital part of ECEF efforts.
