A Winning Day: Celebrating the Success of Day at the Races 2025
On Saturday, September 13, 2025, the Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation (ECEF) proudly hosted its 23rd Annual Day at the Races at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, New Jersey. This signature event once again brought together friends, families, and supporters with a shared commitment to advancing research, supporting patients, and raising awareness of esophageal cancer.
This year’s event was an incredible success, drawing more than 100 attendees who enjoyed an afternoon of racing, camaraderie, and purpose. Together, we raised an impressive $27,474, directly fueling ECEF’s mission to identify and fund research projects that show promise, support patient-focused programs, and promote awareness of this challenging disease.
A highlight of the day was the presentation of a $20,000 check to Dr. Bains of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, supporting groundbreaking esophageal cancer research. With this gift, ECEF has now contributed over $1 million to research projects since its founding—a milestone made possible only through the generosity and dedication of our supporters.
The continued growth and success of Day at the Races demonstrate the impact a caring community can have. Each ticket purchased, donation made, and sponsorship secured helps bring us closer to earlier detection, improved treatments, and ultimately, a cure.
