Drinking and smoking increase the risk of esophageal cancer

Japanese researchers have confirmed that esophageal cells undergo tumor mutations as they grow older. The study also shows that the consumption of alcohol and tobacco increases these mutations and thus increases the chances for the development of esophageal cancer.
