CSA Medical Announces First Patient Treatment with truFreeze® System, New Rapid AV Spray Catheter

CSA Medical announced today that the first patient treatment using the new Rapid AV Spray Catheter was completed at the University of Rochester Medical Center by Dr. Vivek Kaul for the management of persistent symptomatic esophageal cancer and associated dysplastic Barrett’s disease.  Recently cleared for use with the truFreeze System, the Rapid AV catheter represents a major advance over prior technology. The prior polymer with embedded metal braid material is replaced by a stainless steel catheter wall resulting in a 50% reduction in time to liquid nitrogen spray delivery to the treatment site, thus decreasing overall treatment time as well.
