Over the course of ECEF’S existence we have become aware of other organizations and Foundations whose goal is to educate people about esophageal cancer and offer insights into how this disease effect the people in the United States and even the World. We capture in this section those sites that will help people with esophageal cancer and it is through this effort that we share in the knowledge about this dreaded disease. We recognize the following organizations:

Earlier this year the NCI published the minutes of the Stomach/Esophageal Cancer Progress Review Group (PRG) Roundtable Meeting. This meeting attended by over 100 physicians, surgeons, medical oncologists and patient advocates presents the goals that the NCI will focus on in the next 5-10 years in the stomach/esophageal cancer area. The web site for this report is http://planning.cancer.gov/

The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) offers The Patient Guide to Heart, Lung, and Esophageal Surgery, a website presented by cardiothoracic surgeons committed to improving patient care. CTSurgeryPatients.org makes available immediate and easy access to expert, multimedia content, allowing patients and their families to be active, informed participants in the diagnoses and treatments of heart, lung, and esophageal diseases.
