Proton Pump Inhibitors Not Conclusively Linked to Substantial Risks

Proton pump inhibitors are frequently used to treat acid reflux, Barrett’s esophagus, and to prevent ulcers when using NSAIDs. Freedberg and colleagues review the evidence of possible side effects and suggest that proton pump inhibitors should continue to be used to treat these diseases.
