The eradication rates of metaplasia and dysplasia with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and cryotherapy in subjects who underwent endoscopic therapy for Barrett’s dysplasia or intramucosal cancer (IMC) were determined. Endoscopic therapy was highly effective in the eradication of Barrett’s-associated neoplasia. Patients who underwent cryotherapy were equally likely to achieve complete eradication of dysplasia (CE-D), but not complete eradication of intestinal metaplasia (CE-IM) compared to individuals who underwent RFA. Patient characteristics and preferences exert an impact on the choice of treatment selection and outcomes.
