Friends, family salute Ian Supra during packed memorial service

e huge parking lot at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church said a lot about Ian Supra.
There was hardly an empty space Saturday morning. It was the same inside the 900-seat sanctuary.
The minister, David Stephens, said the building might never have been so full, even on Easter.
Everybody came to say goodbye to Supra. The former swimming and water polo star at Dr. Phillips High died of cancer Nov. 24.

Supra was 20, but it was apparent that he made the most of out of every day he lived.
“He engaged in life — body, mind and spirit,” Stephens said.
Supra was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in the middle of his senior year. It inspired a movement called “SupraStrong.”
