Stopping Drinking Halves Esophagus Cancer Recurrence Risk: Study

Tokyo, Aug. 24 (Jiji Press)–Alcohol abstinence will halve the risk of esophagus cancer recurrence, a team of Japanese researchers has found.
The finding, published in U.S. medical journal Gastroenterology, is based on follow-up surveys for up to 80 months on 330 early-stage esophagus cancer patients who underwent endoscopic therapy in Japan.
